Fall Color

Sidewalk

Natural palette tells the story of desaturation.

Color on the walk

Most mornings I take a walk after working in my studio for a couple of hours. At the time of this picture taken in the fall my studio was located in Sellwood. Many of the old homes have amazing trees and flowers in the yard. Colors in this neighborhood ranged from deep jewel and earth tones to weather bleached pastels. Often edges of decaying leaves, cracks in the sidewalk and shady areas grew mold. The mold created interesting outlines and contrast to the vibrant flower colors.
